Deployment requirements
Check account access, hosting and administrative prerequisites before installing a customer-owned Sparta workspace.
Required
- A Cloudflare account with Workers Paid and R2 enabled, in which you are authorized to create Workers and their storage resources.
- Access to the email address used for your purchase or free signup.
- An authenticator application for the first administrator.
- A designated operator to retain encryption keys, manage access and test recovery.
Sparta deploys only to Cloudflare. The current release requires Workers Paid for its configured CPU budget. Hosting, storage and connected providers have their own usage limits and charges.
What installation creates
The installer provisions an API Worker, a web Worker, D1, R2, KV, a job queue and a dead-letter queue. The API is private behind the web Worker's service binding. The installed edition determines which frameworks can be enabled.
Review the account and requested permissions on Cloudflare's authorization screen. Installation authorization is separate from the read-only Cloudflare evidence integration.
