Create the first administrator

Bootstrap managed sign-in with the private administrator token, enroll an authenticator and establish a second administrator.

Create the account

  1. When installation completes, open Sparta from the setup page.
  2. Copy the private administrator setup token from your authenticated setup session.
  3. Enter it on the workspace's first-administrator form and create your administrator account.
  4. Enroll an authenticator and complete the requested verification.

The setup token is a credential. Keep it out of URLs, screenshots, tickets and public documents. Bootstrap is single-use.

Establish recovery access

Invite a second administrator and verify that they can sign in. Keep a protected authenticator backup and an approved recovery procedure.

There is no unauthenticated password-reset or MFA-bypass route. A sole administrator who loses their authenticator needs operator-assisted recovery.

Source-managed installations

Set AUTH_MODE=managed on both Workers and the API's APP_BASE_URL to the exact HTTPS application origin. Install a random SETUP_TOKEN of at least 32 characters through the API Worker's secret store. Remove it after setup. Do not switch an existing Access deployment's mode without following the Access-mode migration guidance.
